The ideal job...does it exsist? O_o

Well, to me is very difficult to choose one kind of work only because I am a very “undecided girl”. The Speech Therapy has five big areas of work:

1- Orofacial motion area.

2- Children's and youth area.

3- Adult area.

4- Audiology area.

5- Voice area.

The two areas that I like best are: children's and youth area and voice. The first one, to me, is very interesting and wonderful because I love children… ^ . ^

The other is voice. This area is very interesting. The speech therapists who work in this area, they do with actors, musicians, singers, teachers, etc….and with other kind of people too.

They do a special work because they teach them to how use correctly their voices. I like this side of this area but I think that I like best to work with children.

Actually I don’t have an idea of a perfect work. I only hope when this time come, do the best and do all with love and dedication. But if I must to choose something, I want travel to South Korea and exercise there like speech therapist.

I want to work on two places…one is in a hospital with a multidisciplinary team. This team consists on a group of many health professionals; Doctors, physiotherapists, neurologists, speech therapists, etc… which must evaluate, diagnose the disease, treat it and take care for the patient. And I want to work too on a language school for children with different types of language disorders or syndromes such as autism, down, etc...

I hope not to have the same job for ever. I think it is very important to innovate and update information on health area and treatments too. Along with discovering new diseases and disorders is also very important advance in the form, type of invasiveness and effectiveness of treatment.

Things I like to do.. =)

One of the things I like to do is to listen music. It reassures me and I turn up the mood. Another thing I love is singing or playing the keyboard. Well, I also like spending time with my animals and teach them things, like to sit down and to give the legs when I ask them to do so. They also recognize the command "down" and to bring things back. I have three dogs, they are mutts and females. One is called “Aqua”, is white and black and is the biggest ... it opens some doors. Another one is called “Terry”. This one does many things; it brings me a water plate when it wants some water. When something drops out of my hand, it brings me it back if I request it for. And finally I have another dog called “Chica”... she is relatively new in my house (when my dad moved to an apartment, she came home). It learned to sit and give the legs, but it is going to learn more things, like the others.
Something I want to emphasize is that I have two cats too, one called “Nena”. We found it on a near alone house and to add information, it is blind in one eye. Well, the other is called “Mili”. It lives indoors and is only mine. My mom gave me when it was two months. It sleeps with me and is like my daughter. We have a special communication. When it wants something I know what it is. Even at the time of moths,we play catch them together! It is a Natural Killer! jijijiji truth. When I buy a toy mouse, five minutes later there is nothing left. It loves I throw the toy mouse to the tree for her to go to look for it... I love it! People say every time that dogs are intelligent, but for the cats do not say anything. That's why I want to show a video to show that cats are very intelligent too and can be taught well. Hope you like it ... See you!!! ^.^

Can we do something to improve the education in helth care?

We can imagine that health care is important for everybody, because we are talking about life or life quality. Why is this thema hard in our country? Basically because you need money to keep health, that is the main reason to confirm that prevention is the best way to avoid family health financial disasters.
This prevention must be done according to the different ages of human beings because health problems are quite different between a childhood and eldery, so it would be very important to make education in every point of life physiology. For babies prevention should be in day.Care centers ideal with both parents, then we should make prevention at school with the children maybe with a subject called "sanitary instruction" 45 minutes a week, properly given according to each age, and it should include nor only things like first aids but also nutrition, locomotive and body positions, drugs abuse, etc, but also promotion of life recovers like the practice of a sport, relaxation techniques and recreation activities. The main idea most be to create a well-balance life. I think the new generations will make the diference in a near future, keeping the good things and improveing the bad things.

Anatomy, to me the best subject!

This is my first year in the university and I don't have done many subjects.Now I have seven and the one that I like best is Anatomy.

In the anatomy practitioners, we are who are recognizing structures like bones or muscles with their characteristics, without forgetting that we are being guided by a tutor. But I think that what I most like of anatomy, is to see how each part of the body and the structures of it, are different and have different functions too. And as that set of different things works like a single, in harmony… And I'm impressed because we are a micro universe which still locks up unknown mysteries like: what is the life? ¿What do you think about this question? I really want to know your opinion...thanks!

Speech Therapy,a great degree.

Well, to be sincere speech therapy wasn't my first choice. It was veterinary because my parents are medical veterinaries and I love animals. But my father said me: " If you will study veterinary, you must go to other country. Here in Chile no!
I was very sad because I really wanted this degree... but after looking for another option, I found speech therapy. Seeing my strengths and my taste I decided that the degree that I might like was that.
I help my dad with their patients and even in surgeries.
I thinhk that I will work with childrens because I like they very much.

For my future I have nothing concrete or decided but I hope to make a good decision at the correct time.
I recommend to all my firends to study this degree because I think it is very beautiful and has mand different fields and areas to work. For example, voice or hearing, orofacial motor and more. But I think it is more important to follow each one's vocation.
With my degree, I have some expectations. They are: -be a good professional. - help people who need help... - and become better person.This is what I think...What about you? I will wait for comments. Thanks!

Who I admire in my field...

Really, I don't have anyone that I admire now because it's my first year of speech therapy. But I meet a person who I like very much. She is the speech therapist and psychologist Virginia Varela, who is my proyect tutor too. She is teacher at the University of Chile and works on the of Child and Adolescent Language Unit . She also has a diploma in Language Disorder, and specifically in clinically Intervention in psychology, also she works with extremely premature babies.

I like she because that's my ideal work area. I want work in this area or voice area... I think it's very difficult work with this kind of mothers.They are very afraid all the time. And this difficult work impacted me a lot! Here is a picture of her. Thanks to you all and take care!

Well, my new post will be about my favourite career-related website.How say the title it is Morfo.cl, because I like anatomy very much. It is very interesting and very important to any degree of the health area. I find that the above website is very useful and educational as it has illustrations and a method, used in some subjects,for example, which is to put the mouse pad on the anatomical name and the computer then dials for you the image.
I visit this web site every day at least fifteen minutes , and more time on weekends.It has many specific things but what I like best is the subject to study.
I don not recommend this website for one friend but all my friends and people in general, because it is more easier to lern, I think so.
